  • QuestionMy current gas range has an average household 3 pronged outlet, not a range cord outlet. Would using that same cord on this range have a negative effect or will I not be able to use it without the 3 pronged range cord outlet?

    Asked by AaronJ.

    • Answer Hi Ajblack - Thanks for choosing GE! The power cord of this gas range has a three-prong (grounding) plug (120V) which plugs into a standard three-prong grounding wall receptacle to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard from this appliance. To ensure the performance and safety of the range, we do not recommend reusing the power cord from the previous range. We’d love to have you in the family. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

    Asked by Lollipop.

    • Answer Hi Lollipop - Thanks for considering GE® 30" Free-Standing Gas Range JGBS66REKSS! The oven has Cook Time and Delay Time options. • QuestionIs there a lock out / safety control for the burners?

    • Answer No

  • QuestionHow do you broil on the bottom, I don’t see any flames coming down from the top ?

    Asked by Sam.

    • Answer Hi Sam - Thanks for reaching out to us! The range is equipped with a lower Broiler Drawer. The oven burner is shared between the larger main oven and the drawer below. Therefore, while using the oven only (NOT the broiler), the broiler door can be opened and a flame can be seen. To bake, food goes in the upper oven above the burner. To broil, food is placed below the burner in the drawer. There is a separate Broil Hi/Lo pad, even though the oven burner/ignitor is shared, because you have to enter a temperature when pressing BAKE as well as a temperature (HI/LO) when selecting BROIL. Even though it’s the same burner and corresponding ignitor for both modes, the control will regulate to a target temperature for all and it relies on the consumer input to determine which one. If the surface burners light but you cannot bake/broil, make sure the make sure the range’s main gas regulator on the range is set in the ON position. They are all shipped with the regulator in the ON position but, if jarred or bumped during installation, it can spring back to the OFF position. Burners will still work with the valve off, but the oven will not.
