  • QuestionThere is no outside external vent connection in my laundry room. I am venting my current to a vent box on the floor next to dry. Can this dryer be vented to an indoor vent box?

    • Answer Hi Babs- The energy cost of gas and electric dryers depends on many variables, such as: The washer's ability to remove water from the clothes. Type and size of load. How dryer is used (timed dry vs sensor dry). Efficiency of the dryer (Ex. Is the lint filter and ducting clean?). Local gas and electric rates. Dryers are exempted from energy labeling because of the many variables that affect energy use and cost. Note: Some dryer models are Energy Star Qualified and will be marked as such. For information about the approximate energy cost for a gas and/or electric dryer, contact your local utility company for your rates. Many utility companies may also be able to provide guidance on which would be less expensive to run in your area. GE® 7.4 cu. ft.   • QuestionThis GE dryer is 30 amps. Is this correct? My electrical line is 30 amp. Can I use a 30 amp dryer with a 30 amp curcuit breaker. I'm replacing a 28 amp machine and never had a problem with it.

    • Answer I had to measure the width and dept as I have limited space next to the washer and the wall behind it. I got mine at the Maplewood store and the sales person was most helpful. It was hard as the options were fewer. Liked GE

Yes, this model features Auto Dry - For clothes that come out feeling and looking great, this setting monitors air temperature to set the optimal drying time. It's designed to help prevent clothes from over drying which may reduce the life of the fabric. By continually sensing the temperatures of the air in the dryer drum, the thermostat controls the heat source (heater coils) and the advancement of the dryer timer. When the laundry is wet, the air is cool in the dryer. As the load begins to dry and the drum air is warm, the heat turns off. As the air cools, the control activates the heat to come on again. This off and on cycling may happen a number of times (depending on the fabric, load size, and cycle selector setting).     • Answer YES! I found demonstration for disconnecting the buzzer on YouTube. It sure made my condo neighbors happy. Buzzer definitely obnoxious. GE was no help when I contacted them.
