  • QuestionThe specifications list a depth of 26 3/4 in. I only have room for 28" depth (otherwise the dryer will block my door). How much room do I need to add for a flexible foil-type duct that goes in back of dryer ? Is 1.25" sufficient?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer I doubt that you'll have enough room. The vent is supposed to be 4" in diameter. This dryer can be vented on the left side for gas-powered or electric-powered dryer and on the right side for electric-powered dryer. This may be your best bet if you have room to the side, rather than venting from the back. FYI: if you do change the dryer to vent from the side, you need to order an exhaust cover plate to cover the vent hole in the back. You can order the exhaust cover plate (item # WE49X22606) directly from GE Appliances (www.geappliances,com/ge/parts for about $40. Good luck, getting things to fit can be really challenging! But proper venting is really important!

  • Questiongas install fee, how much?

    Asked by rjm959.

    • Answer Yes Best Buy charges for gas install. The fee is about $200 which includes a new gas hose which is mandatory. Best Buy contracts with a company that will deliver and install the gas dryer - this company is different from the Best Buy delivery people because dealing with gas requires special expertise. I didn't use the service so I can't rate it.
