Hi - Thanks for considering GE! Broil is only available in the upper oven. The most intense broiling will take place in the area directly under the broil flame spreader. This is an area roughly 12" x 12". By placing the pan on the lowest rack position, the broiling area can be increased somewhat but broiling intensity will decrease as distance to the flame increases.
