    • Answer Hi there, thank you for taking the time to reach out. This icemaker uses your refrigerator's water supply, which may or may not have an internal filter. If your refrigerator does not have a filter, we recommend some kind of filtration system as unfiltered sand or particles can interfere with the ice maker's operation.   • QuestionI have a GE Profile model PDS20SBSBRSS, and the sticker on the back of the refrigerator says that I should use ice maker model IM-4A. I am having a hard time finding this model, but will the IM-4D listed here work with my model refrigerator?

The IM-4D would unfortunately not work with your model; we regret any inconvenience that may cause. The IM-4A is an older ice maker that is no longer being actively produced, but the IM6D kit is a current option that would also work for your refrigerator. That may be available with your preferred dealer, or you can find it on our GE Appliances Parts website; the Parts Department can be reached at 1-877-959-8688, if necessary.
