Q: QuestionDoes this cooktop scratch easy
Asked by Karen.
- A:Answer I am looking to replace the Profile downdraft cooktop that we purchased 18 years ago. There are a few very minor scratches that developed over those years. It still looks fabulous but one unit has finally failed. I love my cooktop and would have to have very strong evidence that there is a better product on the market.

Q: Questioncan anyone speak to the ease of cleaning the downdraft? My current model has puddles of oil along the bottom of the very narrow deep vent opening making it virtually impossible to clean and clean well. I appreciate your feedback!
Asked by Downdraft.
- A:Answer Hi Downdraft, Thanks for reaching out. We're so sorry to hear about the trouble of cleaning your downdraft. We can understand how frustrating that would be. To clean the vent chamber, you can use hot, soapy water. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners as it will damage the finish. Hope this helps. Best wishes -Mike

Q: QuestionThe FR dual-element burner of my brand new cooktop will turn on only the outer element, with inside element staying off, when the knob is turned to right half. The inside element will work (as expected) when the knob is turned to left. IS THIS NORMAL??
Asked by DXTX.
- A:Answer Hi Olga, thank you for your reply. I did study the manual, which states "... will heat the ENTIRE area contained by the larger circle...". My interpretation, both the outer and inside elements should be working simultaneously, when so chose. If so, it is inconsistent with my cooktop performance. It is why I reached out to seek confirmation from my fellow users, including yours. Again, can you confirm if my cooktop (FR burner) is working properly? Thanks.
