Q: QuestionIs this washer designed to be quiet? Previous GE Profile washers have had "Quiet Wash" as a feature, but I don't see any reference to that on this GE Profile 600.

• A:Answer Just had washer installed in. It is loud when washing. Much louder than previous similar model.

Q: QuestionThis washer in the store had an agitator. The one we ordered online, it came without an agitator. Can I buy an agitator to put in this washer?

• A:Answer Hello. We appreciate you reaching out, though we regret any confusion over an agitator. We want to help, and we can advise the model you asked this question on, PTW600BPRDG, is meant to use an infusor rather than an agitator. With this type of washer, the infusor replaces the agitator – the mechanical action of the infusor moves the clothes through the washer, against the sides of the tub and around the infusor to provide the same great wash performance that an agitator would. This particular model is not designed to use an agitator, and one cannot be added. If you have a different model, you’re welcome to reach out to us with a private message over our social media (such as Facebook or Twitter) providing the model number – we would be happy to check another model and determine whether it has an agitator. Q: QuestionI just ran my first load in this washer and the agitation stops for a few seconds between agitations. I am very concerned that the washer might be defective. My sisters high-efficiency washer agitates continually. I took a video but it is in .mov.

• A:Answer Hi there - we checked the information for this unit, and we can confirm that the washer pausing during some stages of the wash cycle is considered normal. -- The washer pauses to reduce the wear on your clothes and the likelihood of soap residue. The sound is also adjustable with the GE Appliances Smart HQ app. In addition to an end of cycle signal, this unit also includes a digital cycle countdown, and LED cycle status lights, meaning you'll never have to wonder about cycle times. Q: QuestionIs there any possible way of cleaning inside the Agitator? After a few months of washes, naturally, the inside of the Agitator is a bit dirty.

• A:Answer That's an indication that water isn't entering the washer. Check to be sure both the hot and cold water supply valves are turned on. If the issue continues, unplug your washer for 2-3 minutes to reset the electronics and try it again. Q: QuestionBought a top loader GE washer and dryer. Cannot get the temp to change form hot to cool and neither the rinse to the Deep “Rinse. What is the problem? The dial also will not change form quick wash to delicate wash. Is is locked or what is wrong???

• A:Answer so gar what I have learned is that you need to press MyCycle. Plus if you press the little triangular shape at the bottom of the temperate column, you can change the water temp. I haven't tried to cange to the Deep Rinse yet.

Q: QuestionWhen i put my bedding to wash it always comes out super wet still, when i do a drain and spin cycle it sometimes puts more water in?!!! When i do NOT have rinse selected?! And then it takes me another 2-3 times to finally get my bedding dry!!! Ugh

• A:Answer To receive the best spin on your washer, we recommend making the basket is not over or under loaded and the longest spin time is selected. If Deep Rinse is selected when running a Drain and Spin, water will be added to rinse the load. If a rinse is not selected, a much smaller amount of water will still be added to help balance the load.

Q: QuestionOur washer has smells like stagnant water.. I noticed that after a wash cycle that there's still water underweight the drum/tub. I can't see the water but I can hear the water if I manually spin the drum. I thought all water should drain. Is this normal?

• A:Answer We recommend leaving the lid up to help the moisture air out because keeping the lid closed can create an odor. You can use Tide washing machine cleaner and follow the instructions on the package to help clean the washer. It is normal to hear a sloshing sound when you move the inner tub in a washer, that is the balance ring. This is an enclosed plastic container partially filled with a saltwater solution. It is attached to the inner clothes basket and allows the basket to spin smoothly should an out of balance situation occur. Joyce@GEAppliances

Q: QuestionI know the specs say with the door open the washer's height is 58.5" I'm wondering if it will work with a cabinet above that is 55 3/4" high and only 12" out so the door will open so the door will be at a slight angle when it is fully opened

• A:Answer The lid must be opened all the way. Open it gently as this model's lid is prone to cracking and breaking the lower frame by the hinge if opened casually over a 18-24 months, after the standard warranty has expired. It is over $300 to repair unless DIY.
