  • QuestionWhat is the lowest temperature can be started for bread proof function? Also, can it do fermentation?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. The Proof mode will create the perfect oven environment for activating yeast in homemade bread. When using the Proof feature, the halogen oven light is illuminated to provide the warm temperatures needed to help yeast rise during the proofing process. The approximate temperatures reached when the oven is set for the Proof Mode is approximately 80° to 95°F. Fermentation is a process, not a feature of the range. We do not have information to share regarding the fermentation process. We wish you the best! - Vikki@GEAppliances

  • QuestionWhat does it mean Inducrion true convection range? Is it induction Range? What does convection mean here?

    Asked by Mido.

    • Answer Hey, We'll be glad to answer your questions. The description means that the cooktop used induction cooking. This means that only certain cookware will work. To best determine if it will work, use a magnet. If the magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it will work. Convection means that the oven has the option to use convection baking. Convection baking utilizes a fan to promote more even cooking. We're here if you have any other questions. Best. Mike@GEA

  • QuestionIs there a lock button so you don't accidentally turn it on?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi - We appreciate you reaching out to us regarding this beautiful GEA induction range. The controls for the oven do have a Lock feature. If you press and hold the Lock pad for a full 3 seconds, the oven controls will not operate. While the induction burners do not offer a lock out feature, they will turn themselves off automatically if a burner is turned on without a pan, the wrong type of pan or one too small for the burner. We hope you find this helpful and that you choose this great range for your home. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

  • QuestionHeating the convection oven to 375 degrees and using my temp gauge, the gauge says 350 degrees. how do I verify that the over is really 350 degrees? is there a specific thermometer to use or could the oven be off 25 degrees? How would that be adjusted?

    Asked by KarenH.

    • Answer When convection baking, it is normal to reduce the temperature by 25°F. Your lovely range can do this automatically. Press the Settings pad and follow the instructions for "Auto Conversion" to determine if this feature is turned on or off. If turned On, the oven is automatically converting the temperature for you. This is normal. If turned Off, we would normally recommend you input a temperature 25° lower than the recipe lists. That said, this may be an indication that the oven temperature is not accurate. The oven interior temperature will change throughout the cooking cycle as the elements cycle on and off. Opening the oven door will allow heat to escape and may affect the temperature reading as well. We'd recommend judging the accuracy of the oven temperature based on the foods you're cooking. If you feel the oven is not performing properly based on the finished food item, we recommend calling Bodewell, our authorized service team directly at 1-833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET to have your range evaluated and repaired as needed. If you don't have the Owner's Manual available, it can be found online and we're confident you will find it helpful.

  • Question"no preheat" air-fry does not work without wifi connection, but does plain old air-fry work without wifi?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Air Fry and No Preheat Air Fry are the same feature. A one time connection to your WiFi and our SmartHQ app will allow the over-the-air update necessary to add the air fry functionality. Once the electronics on the range are updated, you are not required to remain connected to use this feature. We always recommend at least an occasional connection to add any additional features or performance enhancements.
