QuestionCan I use my detergent pods?

- Answer Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us. HE liquid or powder detergent can be used in the detergent dispenser. Like with all our frontload washers, detergent packs, pods, and sheets need to be placed directly into the basket before the clothes are added, following the detergent manufacturer's label instructions. QuestionHow does the electrical consumption compare to a conventional electric washer and gas dryer?

- Answer The wash cycle should use substantially less electricity than a traditional (non-high efficiency washer). For drying we had a traditional electric dryer and this uses substantially less electricity. Compared to a gas dryer I would guess this uses more electricity for the heat pump, but overall less energy if one converts gas BTUs to kWhs.

QuestionWith autodispense, is it still possible to choose a different liquid detergent for whites vs colors? Or are you stuck to using only one type of detergent for every load?

- Answer You need to turn off the autodispense and in the drawer there is the option of adding other type of detergent. Just put the other detrgent in the compartment that says detergent and not in the circular one that is for autodispence.

QuestionThis was installed last week. It's doing a very loud buzzing sound in the drying cycle. I unplugged and restarted it, it was just quiet spinning at the beginning but as the drying progressed, the buzzing gets louder. Is this normal? Is it defective? Help!

QuestionThe whirlpool heat pump dryer had an issue with lint build up. When lint built up in the heat pumps evaporator coil the help stopped. cleaning was not really designed for. Bricking the unit. Since this is a new unit How is such a flaw avoided?

- Answer Try rinsing the screen filter and the foam filter more often with water. I purchased a skinny cylindrical telescoping brush that is meant for cleaning lint from a dryer at a home improvement store to remove lint from the fins. Be VERY careful to not bend any of the fins. Bent fins will damage the coil causing the evaporative coil to not function properly; which will affect the machine’s ability to dry.

- Answer I would HIGHLY recommend you consult a professional electrician; as the machine is only rated for 20 amp circuit at 120 volts. If you are trying to connect to an existing dryer receptacle it is possible with some minor modifications such as changing out the outlet and reconnecting wires in the panel to a different breaker. But once again as I stated before do not try to attempt this yourself if you have no knowledge of electrical connections as this is very dangerous if done improperly.

QuestionI bought one of these 4 months ago and I'm having a lot of issues with the lint filter. We empty it every cycle but we're still running into an issue with lint build up backing up the water supply. What are we supposed to do to avoid that?

- Answer Try rinsing the filter screen and the foam filter with water more often. The rinsing of the filters is not required every cycle but depending on how many cycles the machine runs. So for example if your machine is operating 6 cycles or more per day you may want to start with the rinsing of the filters every few days to see how that goes and adjust accordingly. If you have lint built up on the evaporative coil fins you will need to find a brush, I got mine at a home improvement store, look for a long cylindrical telescoping brush to clean the fins but be VERY careful to not bend the fins. As bent fins will cause damage to the coil causing the machine to poorly dry. Also don’t forget to check the pump filter located at the bottom right corner. Consult instructions before attempting this or you will have a rather large puddle on the floor. You may also want to consult a professional plumber to make sure your drain waste line is capable of handling the discharge from the machine. This sounds more to me as a waste line problem not a problem with the machine. The newer HE machines discharge at a higher volume to reduce cycle run time. Which is great; but not great for older plumbing systems that are not up to current plumbing code standards.

- Answer Hi -Thank you for reaching out to us. The industry standard for comparing energy usage is by using the DOE test and comparing Annual Dryer Energy Use (kWh/yr) and Dryer Combined Energy Factor (CEF). Gas and electric dryers both use CEF, so you can easily compare energy efficiency. The higher the CEF, the better the efficiency. When drying, the Annual Dryer Energy Use is 399 kWh/yr and the CEF is 6.00, which is very good as compared to energy star dryers with a CEF of 3.93. We do hope this is helpful. - Answer Hi! Thanks for asking. The drying will always be at a low temp and can't be adjusted at this time. There is an Air Fluff cycle that you can use that provides no heat. QuestionCan I use 9Elements purifying softener in this machine?

QuestionI see that you don't recommend using vinegar in this machine because it is acidic, is it okay to use Downy Rinse and Refresh? Rinse and Refersh says it is okay to use in any HE machine but its first ingredient is citric acid.

- Answer We use vinegar in this machine but we add some baking soda. It works great as a softener in the baking soda will deacitify the vinegar. Mix it slowly because it'll foam over
