A:AnswerHi - This is Sue at GE Appliances. We certainly appreciate your loyalty! Yes, Optional Undercabinet Hanging Kit JXA019K is compatible with both models. Thanks for making GE Appliances a part of your home. Keep in touch!
A:AnswerHello,
This is Joyce from GE. I will be happy to help. You will need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave. The mounting kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable. Current models are installed with the use of a mounting plate. There is a key slot for flat bottomed cabinets and self-directed tapping screws.
Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!
A:AnswerHey there, and thanks for reaching out to us about your options for installing this microwave. We know how important this is, and are glad to help clarify. Unfortunately, our over-the-range microwaves do require a rear wall to mount to. We have undercabinet kits that can be used to mount a microwave; however, this would involve mounting a countertop unit, which is not approved for use over a range or cooktop. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. One alternate option is using an undercabinet range hood for venting your range, and having a separate microwave for the counter. If you wanted to consider this, PVX7300FJDS is one example of our range hoods, and PEM31FMDS is a countertop microwave that has optional kits for either hanging under a cabinet, or creating a built-in look. We have several other range hood and countertop microwave options, as well. We hope this information is helpful for you, and are available if you have any other questions or concerns. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerHello- We appreciate you checking with us. This is an over the range model that can't be built into your space. To answer your question, no it is not possible. This model is designed to go over an free-standing or slide in range. ~According to Underwriters Laboratories (UL), which approves appliance installations, you cannot use an over-the-range microwave on the counter or in a shelf. Besides not being approved for this installation, these microwaves don't have feet and are also often slanted (not level) on the bottom. Additionally, if the surface lights or vent fan were to be turned on accidentally, it could cause damage to the shelf or microwave. We recommend looking at our models that offer an under cabinet hanging kit. Take a look at the following model: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ge-1-5-cu-ft-mid-size-microwave-black-on-black/5527520.p?skuId=5527520 We apologize for your inconvenience and hope this is helpful. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We are happy to help! Joyce@GEA
