A:AnswerHi Lauren- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for viewing! This appliance should be connected to an individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 120/240V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by 30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers (The figure 120/240 simply means one side of the 240 line operates the motor and 240 operates the heaters). Any appliance that is rated for 240 volts and can also be used on a 220V or 208V outlet. We encourage you to view the Installation Instructions at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=gud24essj_24gssj_c3.pdf - Thanks for checking with us!

A:AnswerHi Kel- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your purchase! The motor will speed up incrementally during the spin cycle. When spin is complete, it will coast until it stops. Motor “whining up” or ”coasting down” in spin is normal. Make sure the washer is level. The more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. Also, unbalanced loads can cause the washer to vibrate more. Stop the machine and redistribute the load. We encourage you to view the normal operating sounds you may hear in the Owner's Manual included with the unit or online at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90532.pdf - Any other sounds may require a technician for diagnosis. You can contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance or conveniently schedule an appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/ - We hope this is helpful. Thanks for reaching out to us!
A:AnswerHi Miashopper- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your interest! 27.325" is the overall depth including the vent connection on the rear of the dryer. A:AnswerHello Patti,
I am happy to help. GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This washer has a 2.2 cubic foot capacity. Your washer is limited by the volume of clothes that can be put in the machine. For example, a down comforter can fill the entire machine but weigh very little, while blue jeans are heavy but typically a smaller load. Make sure to load the clothing loosely. As long as the clothing fits below the balance ring of the washer tub and is not stuffed in the tub tightly it will wash fine.
Thanks for checking with us! Lisa from GE Appliances.
A:AnswerHello Tom - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and am happy to help you. Minimum clearance to combustible surfaces and for air openings are: 0" clearance on both sides and in the rear. Consideration must be given to provide adequate clearance for installation and service. The washer basket is plastic and the dryer drum is a painted steel. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
