QuestionI purchased this Gigabyte G6Kf at Best Buy, on Dec 30, 2024, because it was touted, rated, sold as, (etc.) a gaming laptop. All is well until I play the Witcher 3 games. The keyboard gets warm, and the frame at the top of the keyboard gets HOT! Advise

- Answer It gets hot. Two suggestions: First - using the gigabyte control panel, make sure computer management is set to gaming\high performance so the fans are doing their job. Second - get a cooling stand that circulates air under the laptop and helps cool it. They are inexpensive and will help extend the life of your investment. When you aren't playing games, shut them down. When active, they prevent the PC from going to sleep and thus cooling down.

QuestionHow can I tell if a USB-C or A on the laptop is DP compatible or not? I only see a plus sign near certain ports. And I’m having trouble connecting two other monitors to it.

- Answer Hi Tony, Unfortunately, the USB Type-C ports on the GIGABYTE G6 KF does not support video output. However, you can still connect additional monitors using the Mini DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 ports. Hope this helps answer your question! -Tony

Question1. What is graphic's card best resolution and refreshing rate when plugged external monitor with mini-display port or HDMI 2.1? 2. Does USB-C port work with docking stations for desktop setups, i.e. multiple monitors, additional USB ports, LAN, etc.?

- Answer Hi RW1270, The GIGABYTE G6's Mini-DP 1.4 port will display a max refresh rate of 360Hz at both 1080p and 1440p, at 4K the max refresh rate will be 120Hz, and at 8K it will be 60Hz. The HDMI 2.1 port will support a max refresh rate of 360Hz at 1080p, 360Hz at 1440p, 120Hz at 4K, and 60Hz at 8K. Yes, the USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port will support additional USB or LAN inputs. For external displays, the USB-C hub will have to be DisplayLink capable. While the port's themselves support a high refresh rate, the actual refresh rate will depend on the display's refresh rate. - Answer Since the included charger is rated at 150W, you probably could, but it would be a bit slower. I might suggest using it as a backup, emergency, or traveling charger, if you want to avoid paying for a second charger and already have one rated at 140W (with the connector possessing a port or correct size and polarity) in your possession.

- Answer 1. How much the temperature will rise is always dependent on how hard the processors need to work, therefore dependent on the software you are running. 2. "Zone" lighting on a keyboard refers to how there are areas, like columns o flight, on backlit keyboards. The least is 1 zone (all keys are backlit with the same color), while I think the maximum is 4 zones (there are four different columns of color, looking at the keyboard from left to right.

- Answer Has no one ever shown you how a search, or a search engine, works? For searching BB, go to the search filed at the top of the page (it has the words "Search Best Buy" there, which should be a dead giveaway). Enter the words "G6 KF-H3US864KH charger," hit the "Enter" key. If you don't see what you want, do the same thing, but this time in your browser's search or address field.
