A:AnswerYou can use the cameras without the subscription they just dont have as many features without it. I didnt have it at first and they seemed to on purposely miss things. It only stores about 3 days worth of footage without the subscription not features like facial recognition stuff like that. Once i got the subscription it seemed to pick up even the tiniest of movements effectively and recongnizes people lets you set names lets you set zones. So no you dont need it but ot makes it better. Which to me kinda suck you pay alot for a camera you should get all the features without tje subscription.
