- Answer Yes but you have to get a subscription to make it and your other nest products detect alarms and stuff unfortunately..

QuestionCan you still purchase the previous nest outdoor camera?? This version seems like a step back. I have five and would like to add one more. I'm not interested in the battery camera and having to use to different apps.

- Answer I connected mine to the charger cable and extension cord during my install. If my power goes out the camera will still work. I have a battery backup on modem and router

QuestionCould I buy a second mount and regularly move the camera between the 2 mount locations easily? Thinking of mounting in a charging location and in a optimal viewing location so I don't lose recording capability while charging.

- Answer It does color and night mode which is B&W, but you can control of you want night mode on automaticly, all the time, or off completely. Resolution is good and ot picks up sound crazy good.

- Answer This is not yet supported. I have a Google TV with Chromecast and can stream the previous gen Hello Doorbell, but not the new Nest “battery” cameras. Based on a recent article I read, Google/Nest might be working on adding these features - no specifics or release dates confirmed.

- Answer As of right now, there are only two lengths of waterproof cables. I would imagine amazon and other 3rd parties will have some options available but who knows if they will work consistently or safely.

- Answer Your usage scenario requires it to be connected to some kind of local WiFi, whether that's a home WiFi or a hotspot that remains in the vicinity of the camera. The camera itself cannot send the video nor alerts via cellular data.

QuestionCan you configure the hours that the camera is on? I’d only want this to be active at night and not on during the daytime. Recording daytime events would just drain the battery and not be useful for me.

- Answer No. But with the Home app, you can manually turn your camera on or off anytime so that you’re always in control of when it streams and records video. - Answer No. While Alexa supports Smart Home integration with Nest cameras and Nest thermostats, this feature is not currently supported on the new Nest Cam (battery) or the Nest Doorbell (battery). Currently, these cameras work with the Google Assistant.
