QuestionAfter owning the HPA5300 for a week and comparing to the HPA300 I have found the motor is considerably louder in the HPA5300 on low. Is it normal to hear the motor itself running and creating a rattle noise on low?

- Answer I have the same model with the same noise. It sounds like a bunch of crickets. Lots of people have reported this on other sites. A large percentage of these units are doing this.

- Answer Yes. I have a slightly smaller filter by the same manufacturer in my own room and it works well. I'd say this would do very well on the "Auto Setting" in a classroom.

- Answer We have been using air purifiers for decades due to allergies; including smoke. Definitely put this near the window that is the source of the smoke, and yes, you can put it near the furnace intake. However, if the major problem is the smoke, then it should be near where the smoke comes in.

- Answer Amazon sells them, there are three HEPA filters that need to be changed annually. Then a black filter that needs to be changed quarterly. Honeywell HEPA Air Purifier Filter Kit – Includes 3 HEPA R Replacement Filters and 4 A Carbon Pre-Cut Pre-Filters

- Answer Lin, This air filter can not emit Ozone. Any air purifier that is AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) Verifide means that it has been independently tested to ensure its efficiency in reducing smoke, dust and pollen in the suggested room size. The AHAM assigns a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) Rating that measures the volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner. - Answer Don’t know the decibel level but it is so quiet you will not know that it’s on. I had to call tech support to check to see if it was operating normally. When the unit senses impurities in the room the fan speed increases until the impurities have been cleared.
