A:AnswerWe will be happy to clarify this. When you set the humidity, that is the humidity level you want the unit to maintain. This unit adds humidity to the air, meaning if the humidity is in the low 40's, and you have set your unit to 56, the unit will continue to run, trying to increase the humidity of the room. If you set the timer, that is how long the unit will run before turning off. A:AnswerThank you for your inquiry. Yes, the top is open. There is a cover over the tank to help prevent things from falling into it, and the water is wicked up by a filter before it is added to the air. A:AnswerThank you for your inquiry. This unit cannot be used as a diffuser. Essential oils can damage the tank and base of the humidifier, as well as the wicking filter of the humidifier. A:AnswerThis is not what we expect from our humidifiers. There should not be a noise other than the fan from this unit. Please contact our consumer relations team by emailing us at [email protected] and we will be happy to look into this and help make it right.

A:AnswerWe appreciate your inquiry. The unit is not rated for a specific square footage as many environmental factors can affect use. However, this unit is recommended for a larger sized room. We hope this is helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us by emailing [email protected]. Thank you.
A:AnswerWe appreciate your inquiry. When using a humidifier for the first time in a season, it can take a seemingly long time for the humidity level in the room to rise. The reason for this is that your unit is constantly trying to push moisture into an extremely dry environment. Everything in that environment (walls, floors, furniture, carpet, etc...) is absorbing this moisture. Only when all of the objects in the environment are saturated will the water from the humidifier stay in the air. Because of this fact, we recommend leaving your humidifier turned up to high for a while. If you have dry heat, such as forced hot air, it is best to let the unit run constantly. You will know the humidifier is working because the water level in the tank will go down with use. Minerals will slowly build up in the filter over time. The filter can last up to 3 months of constant use before it needs to be replaced (depending on the hardness of your water). The output of your humidifier will lessen over the 3 months time as the filter absorbs the minerals for your water and begins to harden. You can extend the life of your filter by rinsing it under the tap every time you refill the tank and placing it back into the unit flipped over (top to bottom). Sometimes, in a very dry environment, the water will evaporate from the filter faster than it can be wicked up from the base. This is particularly true if the filter is not new. In this instance, you would have to wet the filter under the tap periodically until the humidity in the room is raised enough for the humidifier to work normally. We hope this is helpful.
