Yes it's compatible with SATA III. It's not easy to replace the HDD though. I'm not sure what motherboard it has.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Had to take out about 10 screws on the bottom then pop the keyboard up, take out 4 more screws, disconnect the keyboard and 2 other connectors. I then had some wiggle room and could then see the HDD but not the RAM. I couldn't figure out what else was holding the laptop together and just gave up and put it back together and returned it.
