- Answer Sorry, this computer does not have a second drive, and does not list it in the specs here. It has a 1TB HDD only, no SSD.

- Answer Whitelisting certain components is a long standing practice of HP. It's why I would never buy an HP system, be it Laptop or Desktop. Too many good, and more flexible systems out there.

QuestionI am trying to connect an external monitor using an HDMI cable. Connecting the monitor HDMI jack to the USB on the laptop but the monitor is not picking up the laptop. I have used the monitor on an older laptop with a VGA cable that works fine.

- Answer Depending on what connection types the monitor has, you may need a different adapter. The laptop's display expansion does not run through the USB, but through the HDMI. Do not try to plug an external monitor into the laptop through the USB port, it will not register. You need to use the HDMI port on the laptop.
