“I do NOT know much about computers at all. I just started to work in the real estate industry and will be using it mainly for work....email...bills ect... Would this be a good choice for me? I want to stay under the $500 mark”

This pc is perfect for going from job to job. I’m pretty much a beginner as well and if you can read you can set up the pc and be working in just a couple minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I say yes, definitely a good choice for things like checking email, working on documents, surfing the internet, watching YouTube videos. It does not have a whole lot of power, so you may feel it a bit sluggish if you try to open too many programs at once. But once things are open and running and you're working, it should be fine. And for tasks as you've outlined, it's good. If you want to do any graphics work, photo or video editing, you'll find it's not up to the task. Same with any kind of gaming outside of web-based games. And even some of those may run poorly. I purchased this for a high school student. Good for surfing internet, and doing homework.
