I suggest you more simply try a Seagate external drive, 2 TB just $60 and 100% portable. Just copy all your content to the Seagate

So, my answer is that it should be no problem and after installing it, when next booted, the O.S. will recognize new hardware and configure it automatically. Especially if both are Windows 10 machines. Do your own homework. Look for many sources of info to check for possible issues.

Instead of the contacts being on the long end, the contacts will be on the short side. There are 2 expansion slots but they are both M.2 slots. One is for the WLAN and the other is for the M.2 solid state drive.
