“Windows 8 setup is asking if I want to auto upgrade to Win 10 when it comes out. Is changing OS going to void my HP warranty? Historical reference: I upgraded my last HP to Win 8 from Win 7 and HP refused to help me after that. Basically washed their hands of the whole mess Win 8 left me in - siting "your warranty is void if you change the OS."”

• No it will not! However read more on windows 10 before you jump. I'm not going to go to 10.

• I don't think so. HP is actually advertising that if you buy their computers you get Windows 10 upgrade for free.

• I have a pavillion G7 that is offering the windows 10 upgrade from windows 7, the preinstalled HP Support Assistant offers to walk me through the upgrade so I can only assume it would not conflict. However my laptop is well out of warranty (still runs great though).
