No you won't, although its not necessary. Its max capacity is 16 GB. But if you were installing overclocked RAM , its not as simple as other laptops. There are multiple screws in the back and under batter and cd drive. the whole back has to be removed exposing the motherboard. be careful as any static could fry your hardware.

Head over to support.hp.com and enter your model number. From there select your model of laptop. If you have issues there is a link on the page to detect your laptop that will get you in the right direction. Once that is sorted out, you want to hit the manuals section.
