It is dual core, however you must understand that cores are not everything. This has a ton of processing power. The new Core M-5Y70 was originally meant to meet the demands of a professional, business device. It was also created for optimum processing speed and low-wattage performance compared to similar performing 4th gen Haswell chips. Intel described it as PC power in a laptop/2-1 device without the need of a fan. Intel describes the performance boots of this chip vs a 4th gen Haswell as: Up to 2.1x better office productivity Up to 2.3x faster web applications and photo effects Up to 1.7x faster conversion of word documents to PDF Up to 7.1x better 3D graphics Up to 7.6x faster video conversion Up to 1.9x faster photo editing PC Mag published 2 articles in September about this chip. For more information, check it out there. I hope this helps. This machine is super responsive and very zippy. It is perfect for a personal or business environment. Make sure you read some reviews so you can be prepared for its little quirks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The M-5Y70 is Physical a dual-core and Logical quad-core due to hyperthreading. As for comparing it to the i-core series it depends on what type of i5 & i7. There are Y, U, M, MQ, and HQ. Intel i5 5Y70 < i5 U,M 5Y70 > i5 Y Intel i7 5Y70 < i7 (all verisions) Intel core M isn't meant to compete with the i5 & i7 as its meant to be the more of a power saving CPU. If your looking to do more Processor intensive application this is not the one for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The M processor is somewhere between the I3 and I5. I do some heavy Photoshop and video conversion on this and while it's not a speed demon, it's very tolerable. This machine is VERY quiet though!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would Say somewhere between i5 and i7.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The processor on this HP PC is 1.1GHz Intel Core M-70 Processor with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.6GHz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The performance doesn't compare - don't get the M processor!!!
