I have used my new Envy +2 for 3 months now and absolutely love it. What impresses me most is the way the keyboard attaches to the main frame. Unlike most other detachables with a clumsy latch and lock; all you do is get the frame slightly close to the keyboard connection and it grabs it firmly into place. Battery life could be improved but not all that bad. Would recommend it to anyone on the go because it certainly can double as a laptop or a tablet.

The solid state hard drive makes booting and closing fast. The touch screen has excellent resolution. I do recommend buying a wireless mouse and keyboard if you plan to use it at a desk for long periods. But the detachable keyboard works fine when needed.

My last computer purchase was a Toshiba Satellite in 2007; so that will give you an idea of the kind of user I am. Self-employed musician here, so I needed a computer that was powerful, portable and wireless. I couldn't be happier with the convertible 2-in-1 tablet. I like the size; big enough to hold comfortably, though light enough to use sitting or lying in any position. The touch screen works very well, with minimal finger drag. Another great "feature" is that the screen takes a beat or two to re-orient itself, and that is great when you're merely shifting positions. Others I looked at were constantly flipping back and forth at the slightest movement. The screen has more glare than it should, so if that is a big issue for you consider a matte screen protector. The kickstand is tight and sturdy; even my pesky cat can't knock it over when she's rubbin' up on it! Set-up was relatively easy, and migrating things like emails and files went very quickly. Installing programs, even intensive music editing ones, was simple and stable. Even my cruddy Brother printer installed with ease. Bluetooth works fine (not great) with both the HP and my preferred Logitech wireless keyboards and mouse. The WiDi is a little touchy; sometimes it stays connected to my enabled TV monitor very well, and other times the connection is unstable. Connection to a WiFi network is usually rock solid and "places" are easy to add. The built in speakers are OK, and the stereo mics are of a surprisingly good quality. Battery life so far is excellent - we'll see how long that lasts. Processing speed is quite good, even for intense applications. The start-up + processing speed are very quick; things that used to take me minutes now take seconds, literally. I worry about only having 256 gigs of HD, but the fast processing speed, the USB 3.0 transfer speed, and the solid state drive make it easy to work directly from a flash or other portable drive. I took the time to really set up the computer the way I wanted it, and I am liking the flexibility and features of Windows 8.1. Admittedly, I don't watch a lot of movies or tv, but the ones that I have streamed perfectly, even to the WiDi device. I'm not a gamer so I don't feel qualified to comment on the performance of those features. All in all I am quite pleased, as a personal/work/non-gaming user, with the portability, versatility and stability of this machine.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter. I wanted her to be able to use it for fun as a tablet to watch movies, play games, surf the net, but also to be able to use it do her homework - mainly through google docs. The set up did not go quite as easily as I would have wanted. When we originally tried to pair the bluetooth keyboard to the tablet, it gave us 4 tries and did not work. After that, we were locked out and the keyboard would not work at all. I had to return the entire product (based on Best Buy recommendation) and start all over with a new one. When I went in to do the exchange, they tried to talk me into getting a Microsoft Surface instead, however the Surface was smaller, cost a little bit more, and the keyboard was not included in the price. So I decided to stay with the HP. The second time setting it up went smoothly and the keyboard paired easily. I like that you can use the keyboard attached or not since it has bluetooth capability. The screen is very large so it is not as portable as an iPad or Galaxy, and finding a case to fit took some effort. So far we've been happy with the purchase.

This laptop is fast and easy to use. Love the touch screen and quality of images in this 13" laptop. Highly portable and the keybiard snaps on and off easily. This HP Envy provides great bang for the buck; clearly surpassing the Surface on many levels. The Windows is great, but does take time to get use to the bew features.

I got this computer on a daily special for 799.00 and it is worth it. It is a little heavy but the computer is well built and it runs very fast with the SSD and the 8gb of ram. I love having the full size HDMI port so I do not have to get an adapter. The front facing speakers are a nice touch they are sound good and can get very loud. My only complaints (why I knocked it down a star) is that I have had to re-install the bluetooth driver twice already in 2 months because the bluetooth stopped working but apparently this is happening with windows 8.1 not just on this computer. Also the included keyboard along with the screen size is why I chose this over a Surface 3 but the track pad on the keyboard is terrible so plan on using a wireless mouse.

I bought this laptop after carefully analyzing all the specs of the microsoft surface 3 and needless to say I absolutely love it the only cons are there isnt many accessories for it and its a bit heavier than your average tablet. The specs and for the price make it mich better than the surface. For the ram in the surface is half the size and also has a slower processor and a lower budgeted graphics card. In case you're wondering which surface I'm talking about I am talking about the 128gb which also costs $200 more and has specs that dont compare. The UI is very easy to get used to and it is very fast as it also has 8gb of ram.

I purchased the Envy 2 in 1 liking that it was similar to the Surface 3 and it is. However being fully loaded with 8 GB Ram and a 256 GB SSD I did not see any prior performance from my HP 13.3" Tablet/Ultrabook i5 1.6GHz 4GB 128GB Windows 8.1 (13-h211nr) and actually liked the older keyboard more. It maybe me but for the price I did not see the core M processor perform any better. However, a wonderful product if you have the money to spend. As a 13.3 inch tablet it is fabulous. But I had to ask myself is this what I purchased it for? I did return once I say the prices starting to drop. Not sure if we will see HP continue with this line.

Had my five year old laptop kick off and fail to boot a couple weeks prior to some critical schoolwork - went to BB to pick up the Surface Pro 3 as I had been eyeballing it heavily but this one drew me away - couple inches larger and more "substance", twice the SSD size at 256GB, comparable processors, more RAM, included the backlit, super-strong magnetic keyboard (no extra $129 here). Totally silent when running - no fan noise or hard drive spinning. The suede topper on the keyboard was the clincher, just too unique and "me" to pass up. It's a powerful machine, boots from completely off to login screen in about 11 seconds (thank you, SSD). Touchscreen is highly accurate. Beats Audio, while at first I didn't care, has grown on me - especially with good headphones. The built in speakers are typical for a tablet/laptop but plug in some good cans and you'll be more than satisfied. Windows 8.1 is a learning curve for some but it's easy to get used to. Battery life is decent so far; obviously a 13.3" is a bigger, brighter screen so it's not anything incredible, maybe 4-6 hrs with moderate use. Don't plan on doing any significant gaming either - graphically the HD is amazing regarding video and such (Netflix looks great) but it can't handle the big boy games out there. Two USB ports, full-size HDMI output and an expandable memory slot round out this incredibly capable package. Did I mention I got it for $799? Only negative I can think of is that physically opening it is sometimes awkward and some programs have oddly reduced clarity - the Amazon Music launcher comes to mind; looks about 1280x800 vice the rest of the HD imagery this computer produces. Regardless, highly recommended and can't wait to see what the next generation of these beasts has to offer to give me buyer's remorse.

I was a little concern because of some bad reviews, but honestly I dont know where they came from. Machine does everything it promised. Power on and off very fast and is versatile. I compared it with the Surface 3 and it offer the same for way less price. Definitely a great buy.

Computer seems to be functioning well, has great speed with downloads. I am having some problems with 8.1 but learning. I do not like that there was no written manual included with computer. If I have a question it is very inconvenient to have to stop what I am doing to look it up online. I do have some concerns re the longevity of the keyboard. Seems flimsy but we shall see. Overall pleased.

I read up on this Tablet PC at HP's website a few times. I reviewed the comparisons of the Intel Core M Processors to the Core i5 processors and they were impressive. This package is the right mix of the M70 processors with 8 GB of memory and the 256 GB SSD drive and it is fast. Great Display! Great Sound! This same package if purchased through HP would be about $300 more so Best Buy has a good deal.

Tablet screen size is good for reading large spreadsheets easily, yet light weight & very portable. Keyboard is sturdy - attaches & detaches easily. Pictures are vibrant, clear, & sharp. The only negative so far - in apparent effort to prevent accidental on/off HP made the unit very hard to turn on .

A nice computer for a school kid as well as for on the road lots of versatility. Not as fast as I would have liked. I purchased two of them. Had to return one it did not work right out of the box. The other one is working just fine. Have had it for a couple of months now. I have had and still have several laptops to compare to both in speed and versatillty.

I have been very happy with this product. I find that I use it both both tablet and notebook (with keyboard) form. The connection between system and keyboard is outstanding. The only feature I wish it had was a regular size SD card slot so it would be much to transport photos from my Canon over to my computer. It does have the micro slot.
