Thanks for your question. This is user upgradable. No, it appears the M.2 socket has the current 512GB SSD drive in it. You can remove and replace the existing SSD with a larger capacity one, or add a SATA SSD in the 3.5" drive bay with an inexpensive adapter. You can use an expansion adapter to add an M.2 socket for a second drive.
