“I need an audio optical out to connect to my external DAC and this model doesn't have an optical out. Any suggestions on what type of audio card that I can add to accomplish this, and is there an available internal slot to install it? What card is best?”

You could use a USB C output, this model does not have an additional open slot for expansion.
