A:AnswerIt has 8 cores. The CPU that this computer has is an i7-9700 which is an octa-core processor. A very new cpu since it is part of the 9th gen, so it will have support from Intel for a very good while. It has Intel Turbo Boost Technology, so it will naturally boost your processor speed close to 4.7GHz, so do not let the base frequency, which is 3GHz, let you down a bit. You will get around 4.2-4.5GHz on average
A:AnswerIt says in the name that it is a GTX 1660ti. I can confirm that the video card is exactly as described. It is the 6gb version of the card. The Power Supply is 500Watts.
A:Answerthe PDF itself is wrong. not sure why, i am thinking it was a general info for the computer and bare minimal. this pc has many models for it. this particular one does have a gtx 1660 ti, and a i7-9700
A:Answervery easy to swap or add hard drives - the solid panel pops right off and there are two drive bays ready to go. i did what you are asking about by pulling the 1TB drive that came with the system out, and replacing with a 2TB drive that already had my game files on it (steam stuff - you know what i mean) and adding a 1TB SSD in the second bay. Transferred the system settings from the "old" computer to this new one using TransWiz to migrate the windows 10 user profiles from the old machine and this freed up the 1TB SSD from the "old" machine to be used for game files on the Obelisk.
A:AnswerYes, it can rip though photo editing, no problem.
You can easily add more RAM, but you may end up having to replace the existing memory stick when you do (read my review for details). It can handle a max of 32gb.
A:AnswerYes, 1660 TI is 6GB GDDR6 vram, which is much much better than the 1060 3GB version computer you mentioned. 1660 TI came out this year for a budget version of those RTX 20 series cards (example RTX 2060, RTX 2070, etc). It just lacks SLI and Ray Tracing to make the video card cheaper.
A:Answeryes, it uses a different connector.
you can purchase an adapter connector
or, if your monitor has an HDMI port for connecting, you can use that
A:AnswerYes, you can. There is a mount at the top of the case for a 120mm radiator, and only a 120mm will really fit. There are several options that would work, such as the Corsair H60. The motherboard also has a 4 pin header for the pump near the CPU.
One note - most liquid cooling solutions (and most heat sinks for that matter) require the use of their back bracket to support the cooler. Unfortunately, there is no cut out on the back of the motherboard plate to access this area, so if you replace the CPU cooler you are doing a complete tear down of the box to remove the motherboard.
A:AnswerYes, you can choose which colors and how many colors to cycle through for both the interior rgb and the rgb icon in the front, or choose a solid color.
A:AnswerI had this exact problem (bought 25 days later than you) and it sounds like the PCIe SSD (Boot drive) is failing. You can run onboard diagnostics to confirm this issue.
When your computer starts booting and you see the Omen display, tap the F2 key repeatedly until it takes you to the diagnostics screen. Once there, choose check hard drive and then choose the boot drive (for me it was drive 2, the smaller of the two drives). Test should take a couple of minutes if successful and fail fairly quickly if not. Write down the error code and contact HP Support. You will also need the system serial number and model number.
After going through some steps with you, HP will want you to send the computer to a Service Center. I didn't have the best experience with HP Support and didn't want to be without the computer for who knows how long. Asked if they could just send a drive and they said they could, with caveats. Their process ends up charging you $320.00 to send you a new drive and credited back when they receive the bad drive. (This Drive costs about $70 and you can get better ones for around $40). This wasn't something I wanted to do and I ended up purchasing my own replacement drive (larger and faster $90, 3 year warranty) and using Windows Media Creation Tool on USB to restore the OS. Computer is up and running the next day. For me and this issue, the warranty is basically useless. Hope this has helped.
Just fyi - I am a Computer Tech with 25+ years of Desktop Support experience.
A:AnswerThe NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti has 6 gigabytes of video memory. It is a dedicated graphics card. Here are the specifications from HP: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06330185
