Honestly, this laptop is going to blow your current system away in terms of performance. The processor is 8 generations newer, and it has more and faster RAM. It may look like the processor is slower, but the speed listed is the "base speed"-it's like the idle speed of a car engine. As the workload on the computer goes up, it's able to speed itself up to 3.9 GHz
