It will output 1080p video through is HDMI port only as the display is 1600x900. 1080p is 1920x1080. If you want to play games i would recommend a laptop with a dedicated graphics card.

However, the components have the capability of 1080p so when you connect the laptop to a 1080p or above monitor via HDMI, you will see those extra pixels.
