“Reading a review (rant) about a review "disgusted that there is no word" I'm confused about what this buyer means??? I have a 3-install MS Office Home & Student. Wouldn't installing this enable me to transfer all my documents from the old HP? This buyer went on to say they lost articles, journals, etc. and can only get something "similar" to Word by paying $10 month. Is MS Office subscription only??? Also, they're having trouble connecting to a printer. I want to purchase an HP Pavilion 8GB/1TB, but perhaps I should look at something else??? Thanks for your comments!!”

I don't think they "lost" anything. I believe they just cannot open the old files, or they weren't transferable to the new box. Yes, this computer DOES NOT have Microsoft Office pre-installed - few do. Yu should look before you buy! If they already have an older Office Disc, they could re-install, or I believe there is a way for them to contact Microsoft if they purchased "Office" on-line. The "software Lease" is something Microsoft offers now - it pops up when you try to purchase on-line. I went ahead and did it because it's cheaper in the long run for me, as I use a Pro-series Office. Hope this helps.
