A:AnswerThere are no venting features with this microwave oven. If you are concerned about mold or mildew, leave the door ajar after cooking and let it vent for a few minutes. This works and I have never had a mold or mildew problem. Since the internal light stays on when the door is left open, it becomes a good reminder for me to close the door later on.
A:AnswerThis microwave is from ‘Insignia’ which is a trademark of Best Buy and its affiliates. It is made in China and has a limited warranty which covers (according to the enclosed booklet) defects indicated by an authorized Insignia repair center or store personnel for one year (365 days) from date of purchase. Hope this information helps you.
A:AnswerIt doesn't matter. You only run this a few minutes a day. The time light is the only thing that is on 24/7. It probably costs under $1.00 to operate it for a year.
A:AnswerA lot of things have foil but we dont notice it because it has paper over it or labels with metallic ink. IE: product labels on food containers or take out food wrappers - also I have a coffee cup with metallic paint on it. If placed in a microwave it throws sparks.
A:AnswerIf you push 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 it will start heating at full power for that number of minutes. Don't push anything else. If you want to heat for 4 min and 20 seconds you could push 5 and stop with 40 seconds to go. Anything over 6 minutes is done differently although a trick for 9 minutes is to do it in two parts that add up to 9.
A:AnswerI use my microwave all the time for baked potatoes and it's just the best. For two medium baked potatoes I usually wash them and leave them moist and maybe put a little coating of olive oil on them and leave them for 7 minutes. A large baked potato takes about 7 to 8 minutes and both of those are on 100% power
A:AnswerAren't all microwaves energy efficient? It performs well and is 900 Watts. Energy use is dependent on time running an power level selected. When not in use, it's only a small LED clock to power; nothing.
A:AnswerBest Buy will not fix it if it is still under manufacture warranty. You must contact Insignia. Insignia does not answer calls. You might be in luck if you purchased a third party extended warranty and you can wait until you have had the microwave for 12 month. Then the extended warranty is supposed to kick in. Best wishes.
A:Answer1/4th inch wider than with door closed. WARNING: the door swings outward with enough force to disturb items on countertop directly in front of door.
A:AnswerHi There,
The cardboard cover on the right top or side wall of the microwave interior is there by design. The cardboard (mica) covers the waveguide system that feeds microwave energy into the cavity and should not be removed. The Insignia™ - 0.9 Cu. Ft. Compact Microwave - Stainless steel should not be used for any function if this cardboard cover is not in place. If removed, it would require service to replace.

A:AnswerBased on my experience, when a microwave starts making noises like that, it’s about to break already. Start investing a new one in the near future. Frozen foods create a lot of moisture or smoke and it gets inside the electrical parts. This is just my opinion.
