A:AnswerThe maintenance instructions we like to follow for our printers is to once a month, drizzle vegetable oil or cooking oil (nothing petroleum based) on a few pieces of paper and feed them through the shredder. If your sewing machine oil is not petroleum based, you should be fine to use it.
A:AnswerI have not been able to find the db loudness, however I did just purchase this shredder and I am surprised just how quiet it is. I did download an app from itunes and it read 65 db (room noise) and the peak 95 db (while I was shredding paper) and while just the machine itself was running it was at 75 db

A:AnswerHad this happen to me. Took it apart and noticed the fan stuck. Lubricated the fan and removed the back cover so I could manually unstick it in case it did this again. Also removed the limit switch so that the shredder can be used without the bin. Has been working so far.
A:AnswerMake sure you're not shredding too much at a time... if you overwork it, you could burn out the motor quicker... use as directed (10 sheets or less at a time. )
