A:Answer I have found this cooktop to be much more efficient than using the electric stovetop with coils in my house. Since the induction cooktop has a magnetic interaction with the cookware used (compatible cookware must allow a magnet to stick to the bottom surface), there is very little wasted energy. For example, I have been able to boil large pots of water in a matter of minutes using a medium setting (4 out of 10). This reduction in cooking time, alone, should save you money. In comparison, only a fraction of the heat created by electrical coils found on a typical stovetop actual transfers into the cookware.
