QuestionWhat is the width of this unit with the door open? Making sure two, with the doors open will fit in the space.

- Answer The open door barely adds an inch in width because the hinge brings the door practically parallel to the side of the freezer. About 29"

QuestionStay away from insignia I haven’t had this same freezer for 2 years. It stopped working found out it can’t even be repaired because insignia only has parts for freezer s over 18. Cubic feet.

- Answer My handle fell off the 2nd day, This has been the worst purchase ever. The insignia convertible. It never gets to the coldest setting. It beeps all the time . Less than a year old And Today I CANT STOP THE BEEPING no matter what. It’s on and it’s working, cooling not door open but the E7 code just keeps coming on.I unplugged it and waited plugged it in again. It stopped beeping for several hours then started up again.I have a 8 year old Sears fridge in the he garage, year after year In hot Texas it runs colder always than the insignia . Never repaired anything on it . I’m sure it’s under warranty but what a pain !

QuestionHas anyone reported a problem with this freezer switching itself from freezer mode to fridge mode? Mine does it at least once a week. And the app will not allow you to switch the modes.

QuestionDoes the door come off of this freezer to allow fitment through a 24" doorway? I see that its 28" wide, but can anyone confirm if it can get down to 24 with the door off?

- Answer Mine did the same thing. Insignia did a firmware update on my unit and it has worked correctly since.

- Answer On your phone Download the insignia app, sign-in (best buy credentials) click add device, then smart freezer fridge … then toggle to Settings/ wifi. Select insignia-xxxxxxx "unsecure network" and click connect. Then toggle back to the insignia app (click continue) IGNORING the "make sure AP is flashing on display" and select in your 2.4ghz wi-fi and enter your password. Looks like apple has allowed the push notification by default. To check in iOS go to setting/ notifications / insignia and make sure the "allow notifications are toggled on. In android 8.0 / 8.1 go to settings / Apps and notifications (allow notification dots) … then back to notifications (all apps) scrolls to insignia and select allow and your preferences such as show on lock screen / override do not disturb

- Answer You have to take the 3 bolts out of the top hinge, disconnect the wiring to the controls, and then open the door and lift off the bottom hinge pin.
