If you power it off and unplug it, try blowing air in the left side (canned air) and vacuuming from the right side. The cooling fan gets dust build up and will not work as efficiently. Less efficient cooling = higher internal temperature, which can lead to development of black holes.... scary stuff! Just kidding (about the black holes)....but higher temperature can lead to early (er) failure of internal components. Mine makes noise too.....as it's cycling, about every 8-10 seconds, it sounds like an electric can opener (??? Trying to create a visual) for 2-3 seconds. I have the 4 year extended warranty.... will update once I use it.... and yes, there's 0% chance these last longer than 4 years with the amount of ice my wife eats daily.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The noise will get worse
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A failing compressor, bad condenser fan motor or faulty drain pump can cause loud noise from the ice maker. Rudson S.| Insignia Support. https://www.insigniaproducts.com/contact-us
