It uses a regular garden hose. Don't use one of those expandable type of hoses. Not sure why but the expandable type didn't work for me.

It uses a regular garden hose but mine has stopped dehumidifying four times in the past month because the collector was full and did not seem to flow, Other than that, the hose works fine.

No its not a garden hose, it uses plastic piping that can be found at any tool store. Just add a small hose clamp and you are done. The actual inner diamater/outer diameter of the pipe required is labeled on the machine and in the manual (which you can download if you lost it).
