“Can I turn off the humidity feature? When I have wet carpet I want it to run and not turn off. I used my parents this past weekend and it's not humid in my basement so it would not suck up the water from the carpet.”

You can turn on the continuous mode and it will run non-stop. Put a drain hose on and it will run until you have a power failure. Hope that helps.

If the carpet is wet, you want the moisture in the air to be minimal so that it would aid in drying, right? If it is soaking wet, you probably need to use a wet-dry vacuum to get as much of the moisture out as possible and then use a room fan to help in the drying. A dehumidifier will help as it will take the moisture out of the air.
