- A:Answer That mostly depends on where you plug the device into if its not a USB 3.0 port you may experience slowed transfer speeds. If your USB C port has SS on it you should be fine.

- A:Answer I used it to recover files off a computer that had motherboard issue. So I would imagine you could use it to clone a drive with the right software. It thought drive was a USB drive.

Q: QuestionHave Insigna m.2 NVWE enclosure with usc-c. Houses Crucial P2 M.2, Mmdl: CT500P2SSD8. It does not show as a drive on HP Envy or Surface Go 3. A Sata m.2 enclosure appears as a letter drive on the Envy. Help please.

Q: QuestionSSDs support commands to request and retrieve health information like counts of bad blocks and low level errors. The Linux command, smartctl fails. What chip is bridging USB to drive? What device= option makes it work? Or does it not work with this unit?

- A:Answer I don't know what chip is used, but I tried several of the available options and --device=sntjmicron worked. (The short form "-d sntjmicron" also works.

- A:Answer I doubt it would work since this enclosure is designed for NVME drives. Apple used a proprietary type of drive so I'm not sure this would read it I believe there are companies that make enclosures specifically for the Apple drives as well as replacements.
