You need to take them off to charge. However, they do last a very long time before the charge is needed!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I suppose you could, but because the charging port is located on the back side of the right "cube" I'd think that would be pretty uncomfortable. If it were plugged in while you were using it, a charging cord would be constantly pulling the bud out of your ear canal. I've been getting a solid 4-6 hours of just music time out of them. moderate call usage cuts it down about an hour. Hope that helps!
