QuestionMy amp stays on at all times even with the remote wire unhooked. Dose this amp have an auto on feature when using high inputs? Or do I need to return the amp for it being defective?

- Answer You have an interesting question right there. Our Club 5501 does not have an Auto Sense feature. As explained in the manual, if you're using a line level input, the INPUT switch must be set to LO and you must have a remote power line connected to the remote power terminal. If you are using a speaker level input, you must have the INPUT switch set to HI1 or HI2, and nothing should be connected to remote power terminal. If you're still have issues, please submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

Questiondoes this have signal sensing auto turn on meaning anyone who have this using hi level did you not need a remote wire?

- Answer Yes you need a remote wire and then put a toggle switch on it to make sure amp cuts on and off and not staying on all the time.

- Answer The amp is going to be a little too strong for the JBL sub. I suggest getting a stronger sub or an amp that isn’t as strong as the sub.

QuestionHello I have everything hooked up the way is supposed to be in my 87camaro, the subs move when the bass is hitting but I’m not getting any bass, it’s hooked to 2 300 constant kickers, but I’m getting nothing, any help would be appreciated thanks

- Answer You should be fine, just make sure you have your gains and bass boost all the way down and slowly turn them up until you feel you’re pushing your sub the way they want bang. Don’t over do it though, this thing can and will fry subs. Killed my 450 watt 12” with this thing

QuestionI recently purchased this amp and when It first turns on the protect light comes on for about three seconds then it shuts off and the amp works fine. Is this normal?

- Answer It is not normal, coming from someone who owns the same amplifier. My guess is you either have a grounding issue (unlikely because those tend to also cause your subwoofer to make a phantom noise when powered but not in use), or a small short somewhere in the amps circuitry, perhaps along one of the two input modes which you are not using.

- Answer You’ll need a 4g power cable plus ground. Any p-con cable. RCA cables. 14g speaker wire for the sub

- Answer To powerful unless your going to be using a competition subwoofer. This amp only runs subs btw. If you want to power everything you listed your at least going to need a 5 channel amp if you want one unit or a separate amp for speakers

- Answer This amp will do the work perfectly I have a 2ohm and the amp can handle 1200 watts sound quality is awesome easy adjusting and install . Hid everything behind the rear seat cover including amp laying flat on seat wall but not on the amp to avoid it getting damage from the vibration will recommend it to everyone. Great product

- Answer The CLUB 5501 can put out 370 watts at 4 Ohms and 550 at 2 ohms. As long as you car speark can handle 550 watts RMS, it will be a great match.
