There are so many conflicting answers here. The JBL Moto Mod does not act an an extended battery back. It does feature a built-in battery but it only powers the speakers, it won't power the phone. It means you'll get 10 hours of playback out of this without draining your phone. If you want an extended battery pack, get one of the models offered by Incipio, Kate Spade (they're actually made by Incipio), Mophie, or Tumi..
