“500W or 800W RMS MAX???? The Best Buy web site says 800 W RMS max,but a lot of others are saying 500W RMS max. Which one is it. Help!! Best Buy sold me a 600W amp. Don't want to damage the sub.”

It's definitely 500 watts RMS. I also purchased a 600 watt RMS amp (CX600.1, certified for 675 watts RMS from factory ) paired great with this sub. Just make sure it's tuned right to feed the sub the correct amount. There's plenty of Youtube videos on how to do this with a multimeter.
