A:AnswerOur previous 19 year old KitchenAid had a hard food disposer built into it. From what I could find on the new models, none have the hard food grinder/disposer. So far the machine works very well and is very quiet. Many newer dishwashers have a reputation of not drying well, especially if no rinse/drying agent is used. This one dries very well just like our old one did. If it lasts 19 years, we will be really pleased. We will be even more pleased if we last 19 more years!
A:AnswerWe don't use a rinse aid in ours, and it works just fine. We don't like the chemical taste it leaves on the dishes and we feel it's unnecessary to spend money on that as well.
A:AnswerThe Kitchenaid machine we purchased has a heated dry option an option they call Pro Dry which utilizes a fan to circulate the heated air in the machine during drying. We've found that by using this option it dries far better than our prior machine which had only a heated dry capability. Yes, there will be a bit of moisture in the concave bottoms of inverted glassware, but that's it. It even completely dries the plastic fridge containers which never got dry in our old machine. We do use a rinse aid product as recommended in the user guide. This product causes the water to sheet and drain off the dishes helping to eliminate droplets of water on the dish surfaces. Such droplets will tend to dry more slowly.
A:AnswerBalboa381, Your dishwasher has the latest technology in dishwasher filtration. The Clean Water Wash system continuously removes food particles from the wash water for excellent performance. Plus, there is no need to ever remove and clean the filter. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our KitchenAid appliances!
A:AnswerThe water drain line was included. I bought a stainless steel braided water line for added burst protection. If your your anti siphon valve is old I would have it replaced, if your drain line connects to you directly to your garbage disposal you don’t need one.
A:AnswerYes, it is a heated dryer rather than an air blowing dryer (if that makes sense). The plastic stuff has to be on the top rack or it will get too hot. And if you save things like the plastic peanut butter jars don't use the dryer or they will shrink. (I'm sure you can guess how I know)
A:AnswerI don't know the temperature but the dishes are too hot to touch when the cycle ends. If I'm in a hurry I aim a portable fan on it. Everything is squeaky clean. So glad I didn't get a Bosch.
A:AnswerOn the lower rack, the tine spacing on the front two rows of tines can be adjustable from standard spacing to 2X spacing, so instead of 1-1/4" between times they are about 2-1/2" between tines.
On the upper rack, the outer rows of times fold down, leaving two fixed rows of times running down the center.
