• yes it is.... One of the top five that I tried double insulation all around the unit. The outer door skin has two layers of heat resistant rubberized insulation. the inner door skin has another even thicker heat resistant rubber coating. So in easy terms the door doesn't get hot on the outside of it and thus is quieter than most

• the first time i started the unit, i had to put my ear on the door to hear it running. so i would consider it extremely quiet.

• Hi Crankypants, this model is rated at 46 dBA. Normal conversations can be around 55 to 60 dBA. Noise is very selective and difficult to qualify, what is noisy for one may not be for others, We like to this this unit is very nice and quiet.
