• A:Answer I was concerned about a gap replacing a conventional range with a slide in - but there was no gap at all. But, if you have a different experience, Kitchenaid sells a trim kit. Mine was perfect!

Q: QuestionI want to buy this range. I do not want to have a range hood system or a downdraft system. Is this okay? Does this electric range not have to be vented if that is my preference? Manual doesn't seem to address venting. Thanks!

• A:Answer I have had this stove for over a month and used it about everyday since. We have a very very old school vent that we are going to get rid of because it is not needed with this stove. Unless you burn something bad you will be fine not having a vent.

• A:Answer No, this is not print shield stainless. We purchased Wieman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish and this takes off any finger prints and leaves a "streak-free" shine to the stainless. We would have liked the stove to have been made with the print shield but unfortunately it's not. We purchased the Kitchen Aid Dishwasher and that does have the "print shield" finish. We still use the Wieman Cleaner and Polish on the Dishwasher and the Kitchen Aid Microwave we purchased along with the stove and they all look like they were just installed. Also, Wieman's makes a Glass Top Cleaner for your stove top that works great. If you do get the stove top cleaner purchase the kit. Not to fond of the "Black" Stove Top, it tends to show more spots and cooking stains than our old white stove top did. None the less it still looks good after we use the cleaner. Hope this helps.

• A:Answer Hello Jo, Any flat bottomed cookware will work (no grooves or raised areas on the bottom that do not touch the surface); however, we have found that glass cookware is the least efficient, cast iron contributes most toward deterioration of the cooktop over time, copper or aluminum bottomed more likely to easily scratch the cooktop, and stainless steel bottom cookware is the most efficient and least likely to cause damage or scratch. Care must be taken with any cookware not to slide the items being used across the surface of the glass.
