QuestionWill this speaker work good as rear channel ceiling mount speakers in a 5.1 environment. And can it be used as rear and front channel ceiling mount speaker in a 7.1 environment. Will it provide superior sound as a surroundsound and music speaker.

- Answer I have these for my in ceiling rear speakers for a 5.1 setup and they sound great. I think they would also work well in a 7.1 setup.

QuestionIs this an older CDT-5800 model? This appears different than what most other companies are selling on their websites, including Klipsch. Most have CDT-5800-II listed.

- Answer I did not use the speaker as a center channel but. Here is a couple of things to think about with using it at a center channel speaker: 1. Direction, it may not project the speech as well as a speaker facing you. Wall mounted may work better than ceiling mounted. 2. Compare the frequency response with this speaker and their center channel speaker to see if they are similar. You would want one that promotes speech over other parts of the sound track.
