It is technically possible to run programs storage on usb drives, flash drives and SD Cards, but this usually take extra technical steps. Most novice consumers will use the portable storage devices for storage, backup and transfer of created content like pictures, documents, spreadsheets, videos, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I only use an external drive for file storage not OS or programs. I cannot say this is possible. Although, in my experience, it should be.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Simply access them like you would normally in Windows. The same goes for apps stored on them. I do use the old Desktop all the time so its just like pre-Win8 use of multiple drives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most (maybe all?) Yogas which have SSD hard drives take a 1.8" form factor, and some models come with an additional slot for an upgrade. There are videos on Youtube and such on how to upgrade this, but it's not for the feint of heart. If you have a single bay, you will need to reinstall your OS and move all your data when you upgrade. If you have a secondary bay, you can simply buy another 1.8" SSD, and install it. Windows will automatically recognize it as an additional drive. Other than upgrading or adding an internal drive, your only options are either a cloud storage service (a.k.a. IaaS or "Infrastructure as a Service") such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive (there are many others), or else a personal Cloud Drive, NAS, or SAN (basically a network connected drive that you can access from any device on your network).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this could be connected to an external hard drive with programs on it.
