No second bay. all you need to do is buy an external USB 3.0 drive for storage. If you wanted something less bulky you could use a a fast SD card to expand the storage.

However, our work-around for larger storage was to purchase a high capacity microSD card and a special, shallow (1/2 depth) micro SD to SD adapter. This special adapter requires the micro SD card to be inserted in to the adapters side before the adapter is inserted into the laptop. Neither the micro SD nor the adapter stick out beyond the body of the laptop at all and can be left in the laptop permanently. We use this for automated, encrypted backups. But you can use it for anything else. The adapter is easy to find and micro SD card capacities continues to increase.
