• Mine has a backlit keyboard with two levels of brightness. Same model.

• It DEFINITELY DOES HAVE a back-lit keyboard, but it's not triggered by proximity. You have to use the function keys to cycle it on, and toggle through the two brightness levels. The description is wrong on this model.
