A:AnswerHello Nan, if your lights are dimming when you run the LG - 1.1 Cu. Ft. Mid-Size Microwave - Stainless-Steel, Model # LCS1112ST it may be due to an overloaded circuit. This typically happens when you are running an appliance, such as a dryer, air conditioner, or microwave and is usually due to either an outdated circuit or that the circuit is wired to run more appliances than it can handle. This a common occurrence in older abodes and is typically not a danger. If you have a another outlet that is not connected to anything then you can use that. This is why your owner's manual recommends that appliances such as microwaves be plugged into their own dedicated sockets. If however, the dimming of your lights goes beyond the use of the appliance, or if the appliance is tripping your circuit breaker, another reason could be behind the dimming. It’s time to call an electrician. In older homes, when the electrical service has a demand for too much current, the voltage can drop, causing your lights to dim because the wiring throughout your home is outdated or insufficient to handle the amount of current it uses. When the electrical service has a demand for too much current, the voltage can drop, causing your lights to dim. Many older houses have this problem because they weren’t built to handle the electrical loads of today’s modern household, which typically features many devices or appliances that all require large amounts of power. Although you didn't mention it in your inquiry, if the lights in your house are fluctuating between bright and dim, you could have a more serious problem on your hands. You might have a loose or corroded neutral wire in your circuit breaker and if that is the case, you should contact an electrician immediately...^IFV
A:AnswerI had this problem with LG microwave. It was mounted above the stove and had lights to illuminate the stove top. I found that when I left the lights on, the inside of the microwave cabinet would get quite warm. When I turned off the lights it would cool down.
A:AnswerIf your old microwave had a higher power wattage than this one, then you may be able to use this one at a higher power level or even at full power. Your question has more to do with the amperage load for the circuit you're using for the microwave in your fuse box / breaker box than anything else. If you've got a gazillion things plugged into that same circuit and you're using them all simultaneously, more than likely that's where your issue is.
